Stepney Green is like the 'Marie Celeste'
Then Mile End where I get off for the Central line
To Stratford......... Standing room only!
Daily chronicling on commuting- Commuting isn't for the faint-hearted. You need nerves of steel to survive the jungle that is commuting. No matter whether you're trying to get to or from work, getting to the airport for that well deserved holiday, it's a jungle out there and only the fittest survive. This is about my view of what's going on around me when I commute, on every day occurrence around other commuters, sometimes funny, sometimes frustrating.

18:03............standing at the platform waiting for a District line service from the Embankment
My mind wonders to the escalating violence going on locally........ Rioting! Looting! Buildings on fire.......And no, I am not talking about Libya! I'm not talking about Afghanistan.......I'm talking about: London (Hackney, Walthamstow, Croydon, Oxford Street), Birmingham, and many more cities!
My mind wonders back to the present time as the train whisks pass and stops several metres away, welcoming me into its rather empty belly
I have several choices of where to seat
The train stops at Temple station then Mansion House, totally ignoring Blackfriars...... Canon Street, then Monument, Tower Hill........ Aldgate East station is like a ghost town, unlike the stations before it
Whitechapel next (Jack the Ripper's Manor, many moons ago)
This station too is humanless (could it have something to do with the Madness that encumbering our sometimes peaceful space?

A minor incident on the train........
Picture this........ A male commuter tries to discretly pass another male commuter who was engrossed in his newspaper........ When.......... He caught his zipper on the reading commuter's bag
Needless to say, they were entwined for a couple of minutes twisting and turning, trying to de-tangle from each other!
It brought a smile to some of the other commuters, including mysel

On reaching the platform a train arrives, opens its mouth on either end (something it can only do in Stratford- a choice of platforms!)
It's standing room only in the 'oven baked' carriage
The law talks about 'muggings' 'robbery' in one hand while the continue to commit 'Day light robbery!' themselves
How can they justify cramming transport users day in, day out, treating us worse than herded animals and charging f****** exhortanate ticket prices!
I stand all through the journey, escaping at Holborn station, taking the Piccaddilly line to Covent Garden............ And 'fresh air!'

It's the first day of August and I'm walking to Stratford Station............avoiding Leytonstone High Road..........Avoiding its descration of dog poo, human spits and refuse litter........
I arrived at Stratford station and ducked and dived pass......... Jehovah's Witness(ers), people handing out leaflets of all sorts, a man shouting "But The Sun paper!"
