Daily chronicling on commuting- Commuting isn't for the faint-hearted. You need nerves of steel to survive the jungle that is commuting. No matter whether you're trying to get to or from work, getting to the airport for that well deserved holiday, it's a jungle out there and only the fittest survive. This is about my view of what's going on around me when I commute, on every day occurrence around other commuters, sometimes funny, sometimes frustrating.

We arrived back into Saudi Arabia last night after a weekend (Thursday evening to Saturday evening) trip to Manama Bahrain
We stayed at the Raddison Blu Deplomat Residence & Spa Hotel
The view from our ninth floor room was magnificent (especially at night, where one can see the sky's glittering reflection bouncing off the Arabian Sea)
This was a well deserved weekend break for myself, husband and another couple, our friends from the compound
We booked in, unpacked our weekend luggage, showered and made our way down to the hotel's restaurant for our supper, which we washed down with a bottle of white wine. We then walked over to the hotel bar and saw a Ukulele band singing on stage
Friday morning, we took a taxi ride to Juffair and had breakfast at Ric's Kountry Kitchen (An American restaurant)..... Where every order was ENORMOUS!
A trip to the nearby supermarket for some 'Non Muslim' delicacies before our taxi ride back to the Raddison Blu Diplomat Hotel
Another shower and swimwear change and some relaxing time beside the poolside
The Ukraine band from last night were nearby singing old songs that had a chorus of holidaymakers singing along, some even dancing
We listened to the band, soaking in the sun and an occasional dip in the pool or sip of our alcohol beverages...... bliss!
For the evening, we collectively voted to visit the cinema to watch 'Kong...... Scull Island'
After another shower and changed of clothes, we ordered taxi and waited for our ride to the nearby shopping complex where the cinema was
Our first stop to eat as the cinema was a late night showing
We decided to eat at The Butcher's Shop and Grill
A tasty combination of sea food was had by all of us (I had sea bass)
Saturday morning, we too a taxi drive to a French Resturant Luilo (I believe that's the correct spelling)
We made our way back and changed for a spot of spa (me) while the others relaxed at the poolside for the last time before we depart for our return to Saudi Arabia
What a magnificent weekend!

I'm in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the moment
Can't believe what I've just watched!
An American series called 'Jag' (never watched before but I believe it's similar to 'NCSI, CSI et al)
Sargent Joey Dutch was being sued for being AWOL and impregnating a female
Ok, nothing wrong in that, I hear you say
My sentiment also
Until..........
Sargent Joey Dutch Is a British BULLDOG!
Yes!
Flabbergasted? Me too
Suffice to say......... he won his case
The litter he fathered have all gone to loving homes........ A fairytale ending unlike any other series of this kind LoL!

Singing with The West Cambridge (48 piece) Orchestra
I'm just getting out of bed to make brunch
"What a lazy bugger, you may cry!"
1) I blame my postman's early morning delivery
2) I blame the Rock Choir DVD
After thanking my postman, I hurried upstairs, two steps at a time, thinking to myself....... if the CD blew my soul, what will the DVD do?
First watch
Called DOS man and had a video link to watch it together........ didn't work!
Why?
He was talking through the rehearsal, something about the cathedral and its history, NNNOOOOO!
Then the orchestra bit ( don't you just hate it when someone keeps interrupting! Kudos to him though, as I always do it to him LoL!)
Second watch
Aaaaah! Bliss!
Watched it all through, without interruption but emotional
Third watch
Singing along but crying through "Something Inside So Strong
Fourth watch
Singing along but no tears
Fifth watch
Spotting familiar faces and smiling
VERDICT?
The DVD blew my MIND AWAY!
Thank you Mike Tandy, for giving me/us the opportunity to participate in such an AWESOME DAY

Our transit plane from Detroit, Michigan couldn't take off due to snow
A giant mechanical plant was used to spray de-icer all over the plane as we sat inside helplessly
I'm watching 'Independence Day...... Resurgence
Madam president reminded me of POTUS (he who remains nameless)
Authorising an attack on a friendly alien ship, who then retaliates, causing millions of deaths
God help America and its people!

Picked up my train tickets from the machine
Peterborough station is like the Marie Celeste
All the poor souls traveling to work are nowhere to be seen
Gone are my days of power dressing and being squashed like a sardine, day in, day out
Neither do I miss the apologetic excuses of delayed London Underground Transport and inconvenient strikes

It's been three years since I last posted anything on my blog
Why, yow may ask
So many things have happened: An ex Civil Servant (Naked Civil Servant comes to mind), trying to find oneselve after thirty odd years as a Civil Servant, a move back to the Shires, making new friends both at church and the Rock Choir........... All in all, I'm settling into my new life, a more sedated life perhaps, but loving it!
I'm still a holiday junkie
Travelled to Miami, visiting family in Florida, going on the second Motörhead Motorboat cruise (the last one because sadly, Lemmy passed away a couple of months later. I am glad I had the pleasure of meeting Lemmy and have a photograph with him as a keepsake), Hawaii was a surprise visit organised by DOS man via our visit to Los Angeles, San Dieago, San Francisco
We did a Caribbean cruise and a scandanavian cruise........... I can go on but I won't
I believe I've got my mojo back!
Watch this space as I continue my journey around our beautiful earth
